Woman killed in hit-and-run accident in New Hampshire

Portsmouth, New Hampshire, readers know that drinking and driving is dangerous, and car accidents with drinking involved can be very serious. You might have heard the news about a woman who allegedly killed a friend in a hit-and-run accident. The hit-and-run car accident resulted in the death of the driver's good friend, according to the news, but the driver didn't know she'd hit anyone at all.

The report from Nov. 4 stated that the 41-year-old woman struck her 48-year-old friend who was on a bicycle on the road's shoulder. Although the accident happened in the early morning, the woman allegedly didn't know she'd hit someone, and she continued to drive away. According to the news, the driver and the victim were headed to the same home when the accident occurred.

When she spoke to police, the woman claimed that she had four alcoholic drinks while she was at work, and she allegedly blacked out on the way home. When police investigated, they did not find a reason to think that the woman had caused the accident on purpose. Presently, she has been charged with negligent homicide and conduct after an accident, and she is in jail pending a $25,000 cash bail.

In this case, the person involved in the accident was killed, but others have survived and faced time in hospitals for horrible injuries. If you've been involved in a hit-and-run accident, you could be faced with serious injuries or the death of a loved one that you have to take care of. In these difficult times, it's important to look at all your available options to find the best way to navigate your legal rights. You might be able to claim compensation to help you cover your injuries or the costs associated with additional medical care.
