1 killed, 1 injured in drunk driving accident in New Hampshire

While car accidents aren't always intentional, they can come with extreme loss. Losing a loved one in an accident can put you in a difficult position; you need to be compensated for the pain you've been put through, but you also realize that even if a person was negligent, the accident may not have been intentional. Despite this, it's in your best interests to pursue what you need, since it's your life that will be affected in the long run thanks to the driver involved in the case.

Take, for instance, this case involving a man from Derry who was allegedly driving drunk. He's now facing negligent homicide charges for a crash that he likely didn't intend to cause. The crash resulted in the death of a motorcyclist that the Derry man struck on Route 102.

The 46-year-old man from Derry allegedly fled following the accident, but he was found around three hours later by police. They believe that the man had been trying to make a left-hand turn when the fatal crash took place; he allegedly pulled out in front of the motorcyclist and then decided to flee. The motorcyclist and his daughter were left laying on the roadway with injuries; the man did not survive, however, his daughter did.

A witness on the scene was able to identify the man's vehicle and license plate number, allowing police to track him. Following his arrest, he was charged with two counts of negligent homicide, driving while intoxicated, second offense, and conduct after an accident with a personal injury. The man also didn't have a valid license, according to police. When asked about the accident, he claimed he remember hitting an object, but he couldn't remember what it was or how he ended up several miles away from the scene.
