Man killed in fatal workplace accident

| Jan 29, 2014 | Wrongful Death |

New Hampshire readers might have heard about this man who died in Vermont after a co-worker drove a log truck into him. According to this story about the man’s wrongful death, the 42-year-old man who was driving the truck claimed that he thought the 24-year-old man was clear of the truck when he began to drive it forward. They had been working on the truck together prior to the accident.

Unfortunately, the 24-year-old man was still in the path of the truck. It struck the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police. The New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officers were nearby at the time of the accident and were the first on the scene. No reports have claimed any kind of wrongdoing in this accident.

An EMT from Errol ambulance also responded, according to the reports, and now troopers with the New Hampshire State Police Troop G and F will be conducting an investigation to determine the cause and if charges are necessary. Reports also claim that the New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office responded at the scene.

This workplace accident caused a young man to lose his life, and many accidents like these can be prevented. If you’ve lost a loved one due to lax safety procedures or problems with construction equipment at work, it’s important that you look into your options. It’s not possible to bring back the person you lost tragically, but you may be able to seek compensation that can help cover funeral costs, medical bills, and other needs you may have during this very difficult time.
