Truck and car accidents vary in their impact on those involved based on the speeds and angles that take place. Because of the way forces can work against those in crashes, it's no surprise that people struck by heavy commercial vehicles suffer some of the most severe injuries and require ongoing medical care to stabilize them and help them recover.
Getting hit, even from behind, can cause injuries such as whiplash, concussions, broken bones, spinal injuries, or other problems. That's something that may have happened in this case reported in New Hampshire that you may have heard about. This crash on Route 125 was so severe that one driver had to be taken to the hospital by medical helicopter. The news reports that the crash, which happened around 8:12 a.m., happened when a driver slowed her vehicle, potentially to make a turn.
At that point, a truck that had been behind her failed to slow to allow her enough time to turn. The 2011 Freightliner, which was driven by a 44-year-old man, collided with the car. The 29-year-old woman inside reportedly had serious injuries, and she was flown to Boston Medical Center for immediate treatment.
You know that after a crash like this one, you're going to have to face recovery time, need to focus on making up lost wages, and will need to try to obtain a new vehicle or repairs for yours. This accident and others like it could be prevented if drivers paid better attention to the roadways; when they don't, injured victims pay the price for that negligence.
