| Nov 18, 2016 | Workers' Compensation |

As someone who walks or rides a bike often, the idea of being hit by a car is terrifying. Pedestrian accidents occur fairly often, and many times, they’re the result of drivers not paying attention to the road or getting behind the wheel when they’re drunk or distracted.

That’s what happened in this case that led to two people being injured. The news has reported that two pedestrians were hurt in Nashua, leading to the arrest of a man who has been charged for hitting them with his vehicle. The Nov. 15 report states that the man has been charged with reckless conduct and driving while intoxicated following the collision.

The crash took place at around 12:50 a.m. on Nov. 15 near 28 Railroad Square. It was there that police officers found two pedestrians; One was suffering from serious injuries while the other was discovered in critical condition.

The man who caused the collision, a 26-year-old man, was arrested at the scene. Initially, he was only charged for aggravated driving while intoxicated, but upon further investigation, reckless conduct was also filed against him. Each of the charges is a felony, and they could lead to up to seven years in prison each.

In situations like this one, it’s within your rights to seek out compensation for your injuries. The driver, if intoxicated or reckless, might face criminal charges as well, but your claim can go through a civil court and could be settled without ever having to step foot in a courtroom. You have several legal options you may want to consider.
