Alleged DUI crash kills passenger in New Hampshire

| May 10, 2018 | Car Accidents |

A tragic accident happened in Bath, New Hampshire, when a white 2011 Chevrolet Cruz went out of control while going around a curve in the road. The small passenger car left the street and slammed into a tree. Pictures from the scene show the car sitting in front of the tree with the fender bent back and the hood crumpled up toward a smashed windshield.

The driver of that car was a man who is 28 years old. Inside were two passengers. One was a young male and the other was a young female. Since they are both minors, their names and exact ages have not yet been released. Their relationship to the driver wasn’t reported.

All three people in the Cruz suffered injuries, and emergency crews rushed them to Cottage Hospital, which is in Woodsville. While the female passenger and the driver lived and were transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, the young male passenger passed away.

The police are carrying out an investigation. They have charged the driver with aggravated driving while intoxicated. On May 21, he has to go to his first court date at the Grafton Superior Court.

While both state and local police departments are looking into the accident, they have also asked any witnesses to come forward and help them understand how the tragedy unfolded.

Have you lost a family member in a car accident involving a drunk driver? If so, it is very important for you to know all of your legal rights. The same is true if your family member survived with serious injuries.
